Meet Leah Burnett

As a passionate urban farmer and executive director of a nonprofit focused on empowering
women through sustainable agriculture, Leah Burnett has dedicated years to teaching families,
especially Black women and women of color, how to grow their own food and medicine. With a
deep commitment to food justice and community wellness, Leah has been running free
vegetable distributions, offering gardening education, and fostering connections between land
and well-being.

With over 9 years of experience managing multiple spaces, Leah is now assisting the St. Ann
Community in designing and cultivating their community garden and developing a farmers
market. Through this work, Leah aims to create a space where residents can access fresh,
healthy produce and strengthen the local economy. By combining expertise in regenerative
farming with a vision for community resilience, Leah is excited to help make the St. Ann
community a thriving hub for sustainable living and local food systems.
